I have a Pflueger 1774 and Sal-Trout the question : Is there a way to adjust the click spring (to lessen tension)?

a little bit goes a long way.
I have spring-bending pliers http://www.micromark.com/large-wire-loo ... ,6616.html
I start at the bottom and move them up and down the spring, squeezing to put a series of micro bends in the spring - of course to move it in the way I want it to move.
a little bit goes a long way

This is a very old thread, but I figured I'd ask because I couldn't find it in the search:

To adjust a caliper drag to favor LHR, like a SalTrout, to I adjust the left or right side? Is the adjustment made by squeezing top to bottom, side to side, or some combination?

Understand the concept of pawl lead on this post

Since you can't remove a caliper spring, I walk the wire bending pliers up and down the spring making countless squeezes to gain the lead I need.
