I like the "twangy" sound. I have several of these reels.

I like the sound of these reels. Much more of a purring than a scream, especially with a big fat barbel in the current pulling the line off my presentation V

Sorry the rod is my custom built graphite 11' 5-6 weight switch rod with exchangeable short and long grip, here the short butt

A most effective / simple setup - I have yet to find one where the original owner has fouled the pawls.

The left side holding the pawl is marked L for Light.
It is easily flipped over to distinguish between left and right hand click preference.
The right side, that is marked H for Heavy and again - flip it one way for left and one for right.

What can be more easy.
Not a dadgum one way bearing that is for sure, which is in many todays overseas offerings.

and Yes, that - twang - is lovely echo'ing off these Ozark Mountains!

Beauty is in the ear of the beholder, but I'll be the first to admit, they sure do sound a lot better with a running fish! I gained more of a fondness for my Presentation II (not the EXR version) this summer when I matched it to my yellow blank Kabuto 8033. Balances very well and I did battle with several 17'+ LL Salmon and a Brookie or two with it. I got over that "twang" quickly...
