Hey Ron,
Can you tell me the backing capacity of my Beadex? I'm going to load it up with backing today and get ready for fishing season. I'll be using a WF 6 on it.
Thanks
Also,
Anyone know the line capacity of a Martin MG-10? I won it on Ebay and need to load it up also.
Thanks

your Beaudex is a narrow drum, right?
(It will not fit a DT6.)
It will fit a WF6 and about 40-60 yds backing.
(these are 1957 line diameters)

The MG-10 capacity is huge. 120+ yards and whatever line you want to add.
Congradulations - nice reel.

You will love that MG 10. The spool is essentially the same size/capacity as the 67 or MG 7. I can't find my MG 10 owner's manual, but my MG 7 manual lists 100 yards (I assume 20# braided line) with a DT 6. You could probably add about 30 more for a WF 6. Another way is to fill it so it's visible midway in the second ring of vent holes. My MG 10 with a WF 6 is filled slightly higher than that.
Watch out when you get to cranking that thing or you will strip the tip-top and several snake guides before realizing how quick the line came in. Or if you snag some brush, you might pull down several trees. The sizzling hiss of the line through the water as you crank it can also be a distraction.

I believe the spool is 1/4" wider on these.

About that speed, I have been fish one of these for white bass the last two years, with a sinking line and basket. You need long casts - 70' - and slow bottom-bouncing retrieves. They follow right up to your feet and take it when you lift. Then you have 70' of line to get on the spool - it's about 3 to 4 seconds with this reel.
