I know these reels are quite desirable for matching up with glass rods and some cane as well so I thought that providing some size and weight info would be helpful to those who are interested in these. This info comes from the April, 1970 William Mills and Son Tackle Catalog. Just guessing but I would think that similar Japanese made reels in this style probably weigh about the same.

#300 - 2 7/8" - 3 oz.
#310 - 3 3/16" - 3.5 oz.
#320 - 3 1/2" - 4 3/4 oz.
#340 - 3 3/4" - 6 0z.

there was a box each of 300s and 310s at our TU Chapter swap meet, donoted to as silent auction items to the chapter. I'm VP Chapter Affairs (retired at the last meeting, though), so I was busy running the show. By the time I got back to them, they were long gone.

I'm not a member of Clark's Forum but feel free to post this info there if you wish to do so.

Here is a Daiwa 740 which is the same as the heddon 340. japans answer to the hardy St Aidan. this one has caught a few bonita and a nice strippImageer.

i am thinking of putting it up on the for sale board since i have several salt water reels that fill this spot.

the grease was in there when i got it. first time out i caught a bunch of bonita and all the screws started coming loose. the handle came off (unscrewed) the reel foot loostened. after that i locktited all the screws. no problem since. it really screams with a bonita running.

Boo,

Except for the color, that reel is the spitting image of a Pflueger Trump 576. Is the frame made of brass or aluminum?

Value? Probably in the $25-35 range. I'm assuming it will sell for more than a Trump because it is badged for Heddon.
