Thanks guys.
Goldenrod67, just the opposite. Only finished rods to be sold, I won't be selling blanks. Just trying to get the reel seats finished then I can start building them soon.

Ok fellas. Hate to post carbon first but it's the first one offered to the public and serial #1. Here we have my Trout Smith's Heritage Carbon 3wt. This one is a custom build wrapped in vintage Gudebrod variegated nylon thread I found and looked forward to using. More of these rods will be finished soon. Only 9 of each model available. These new Trout Smith's carbon rods are special, they have a medium action... a vintage IM6 feel with a glass soul. This is a one of a kind build on an awesome taper.

You can also see the new rod tube labels, Matt Zudweg (Boneyard fly gear) did the artwork. Vintage cigar box label was the overall idea with these new labels.

This is the 8ft 3wt 4pc model, and it is so nice and smooth.

I’m all-in on a spin rod. Serial #1 (again) would be just fine!
Carbon or glass by the way, as it was not clear to me which material was going to be used.
If using the vintage Gudebrod variegated thread, well that would just seal the deal!

Thanks again guys. Just got about half the seats in today. And Swedish_fish218, it's funny you mention the spinning rods, blanks are finished! They are clear E glass.

My timing on things like this is surprisingly good.

Standing by my decision. A clear blank e glass spin rod will be awesome.

The 803c is a wonderful fly rod. More power than I expected from a 3wt (my first one), but a smooth and fuller flex than any carbon I’ve used or own.

Outstanding sir.

E glass 8ft 5wt 4pc custom build. I'm calling it "custom" because I have not nailed down what the stock models will be when I complete the line up. But these photos should give you a good look at the blank color.

Those rods are not only classic but truly classy. You can see the craftsmen ship and concern you put into them for your customers. Also your not just putting them in just any old tube, but really good looking and guilty ones. They will be proud to own one. It's good to see quality coming from people today. Keep it up . Saltfly

Bruce, thank you.

I would like if anyone that has an opinion on grip shape, please comment or PM me. Here's what I've liked so far, but it would be great to know what other people like.

I found all of these grips to be very comfortable, I seem to always like the "Powell or Thomas" all cork grips, I also like the modified half wells. These two styles are on the E glass. I think the shorter grip and seats aid in the feel for these two models. For the S glass I have turned cigar, and reverse halfwells and found both to be a very good options. Of coarse I can turn just about any shape if custom ordered but it would be nice to have a desired grip shape to start off with. For the Carbon (not pictured), I landed on a western grip shape with an up locking seat, I have each model finished.. I can post some photos tomorrow of those. In this photo you can also see the little spinning rod with slide band hardware, I have locking hardware almost finished and will toy around with more of those in a week or so.

A photo of the grip shapes I've really been happy with. ( top to bottom: Ultra light spin rod, E glass 7ft 3wt, S glass 7ft 3wt, S glass 8ft 4wt, E glass 8ft 5wt, and S glass 8ft 5wt).

And this one, just because it looks cool!

The Western grip on the carbon is perfect. Second for me would be the reverse half wells. And my preference is up locking hardware.
The look of the cigar shape is my favorite, but not my preference for fishing.
