My good buddy and forum member, Rodney Bo, recently gave me a handful of his latest creations to photograph. To say that he has this popper thing down to a science would be an under statement. The amount of work and attention to detail that goes in to each popper is mind blowing. The man is a perfectionist. Not only do these poppers and divers look great, they are fish magnets, and extremely durable to boot!

Rod offers poppers and divers in all shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns. He even ties/paints custom creations upon request. As of now, popper prices start at $6 each. We hope to have a functional website up and running in the very near future to streamline the ordering process and document user success.

Without further ado...

Thank you Chase and Tom "jgestar" for making this post available!!
I'm hoping to have a site like Chase said up real soon!
Really trying hard to focus on a fish series of poppers and divers to set me apart from others.. Also like my frog pattern and the bumble bee and Lifesaver pattern..
Those are the ones that members on this forum respond the most on..
I will offer discounts on orders by the dozen..
Thank you members for all your kind words..
Rod

I don't fish for bass or the like but. I'll take a dozen different ones with rubber legs. Where do I send the check? :)

When Rod posted a few of these a while back I couldn't pay fast enough to get some of these into my hands! The brook trout colored ones are my favorite! I see another color I must have now! The first one pictured with the striped colors!

Excellent work!

First off. Thank you! But they do work n Trout also..
We normally use a Chernobyl with a Elk Hair Caddis trailing in July on the Green in Wyoming. A popper in front is just as effective! Also a popper dropper is fun also.
At night the frog popper will produce huge takes, with a large strip close to the bank!!
I do take PayPal no need to hassle with checks unless that's your preferred method..

They are not a soft foam! It's like a dence styrofoam!
Here's a couple pics of how they start out. There is a groove cut in and you first make a indentation to accommodate the bend in hook so it doesn't turn after it's installed.. Then you fill the gap level, sand, prime the area you filled so it takes color,
Then seal it. Then put primary color, sand, paint 3 layer eyes, Then customized design, usually 3 colors. Then sand smooth again, and three layers of gloss protection. Then tye in tail, tye in legs, tye in hackle and finished!! 45 minutes to an hour per popper..
LOL

A member asked if I could do a Chartreuse Popper with red spots and lots of legs..
This I what I came up with. 7 coats of paint finally covered the white body.. Please let me know your thoughts of this design..

They sure are pretty, but I've never known a bass to be picky.

Rod,

You have made such great progress in such a short amount of time !!

Here is a challenge for you to consider ... the "mouse-ing" game among trout fishers has really picked up these past few years ... maybe you can dream up a creatively shaped pattern with appropriate materials for mouse-ing trout streams, and also "cross over" trout / smallmouth streams. Though I prefer fishing into daylight and during the daytime, this time of year I am on trout streams late until the hatches are over at dark, and am not opposed to tying on a streamer or large top water creation just past dark for ten or fifteen munutes just to see if I can entice a real bruiser to close out the evening ...
