I'm very pleased to announce the arrival of the newest edition to my parabolic series of rods, the 70p. This is an ultra smooth medium-fast semi-strong semi-parabolic 7' 3 or 4wt 4 piece small to medium water rod. I designed this one to fit in with my sweet little 64p and the LTD 75p (coming to full production soon!), a rod for those that want something longer than the 64p and is another smaller sibling to the longer 75p. It makes a great pack rod with a 22" section length. I prefer this rod with a 406 Fly Lines DT4 and I know others have enjoyed it with a 3wt line. I am offering this rod in both my sunny yellow as well as a deep 'stout' color.

The pricing starts at $595 (shipping included) and these rods will be the first to emerge from my North Carolina shop in just a few weeks. Please contact me for more details or to get on the build list.

Wahoo! I'm adding to my collection.
Love these rods.
Just fished the 64p some up in Oklahoma. and paired with a Hardy Featherweight and 406DT, it's a precision instrument.
The graphite and boron boys were giving me a hard time about my glass (the 64, a Morgan Streamer special, and an Epic 686,
but I got more and by far the largest fish of 5 days, so they quit quacking.

Chris, will the 64p also be available in stout?

Dave, to quack about those 3 fine rods is a head scratcher . Did they cast the rods?

I had the pleasure of casting the 'stout' version (which Chris called the 'ninja rod') at the Coulee Conclave and was highly impressed. Chris had it rigged up with a 4wt line. It felt like a 3wt and threw effortless loops. I wasn't on a stream with it, but it seemed like a rod that can paint the fly on the water. Glad to see they will be available soon!

Chris, put me down for a Ninja - just as pictured! Do I need to hit your site to officially order one?

AR, one guy who cast the 686, and asked if I wanted to sell it. He was fishing a Hardy Zenith, and as I talked about glass rods he broke out a new Fenglass 6wt. It was ok, but nowhere near the smoothness of the Epic. But as far as the others, you know how it is, the faster, faster crowd think they have the best stuff available in their hands already.
I personally love the "soul" of glass.
Fresh or salt, light, medium, or heavy, I'm glad I found you guys.

Now that there is something other than "BOY THAT'S REALLY YELLOW", it's time to start saving my allowance.

I happen to prefer the yellow. Well, at least there's a choice.

Just sent a pm John. Thanks!

Glad you guys like the Stout color - it was a really fun one to come up with.

I'll get a casting video going soon. With the move coming up in a few weeks and life being full tilt nuts in general I've forgotten to do it. And this heat we're having doesn't help any. Maybe I'll get out my powders and sweat it out later this week.

I feel exactly the same. The new stout looks great, but I really do like my matched yellow set (64p and 75p). Both look terrific and will no doubt cast great.

I agree. I also think both colors look great with a brass Winston-Salem, NC cap on it.
I also hope the Barclays enjoy their new home. I don't know much about Winston-Salem but you have a NHL hockey team there. I'm a hockey fan so that's high on my list, :lol

Just great Chris! I finally thought I had every rod that I needed (and then some) and now the 70p comes along. Just kidding. Looks fantastic, you'll be hearing from me in the future no doubt.

Chris,

Just received one of your 710-5 rods purchased from a board member . Rod # 144-14 . Noticed that the cap is not stamped and was wondering how old the rod is and when you started marking the cap ? Great rod .
