Got my 70P this week!

Amazing power for as light in the hand as it is.

Yippee again!

Just had mine out in the yard. It really like the Barrio SmallStream 4, the Rio Gold 4 was okay. Power yes, it handled a Sylk 5 just fine and I liked it even a little better than the short tapered Barrio. Wow what a great small rod!!!

A 406 line is on my list - I read nothing but positives about them. I think the action of the 70P is very forgiving, i.e. line friendly, at least from what I saw today.

This rod is....a Lazer-Pointer!
It's nothing like what I imagined a 'parabolic' rod to be (maybe because it's 'semi-parabolic')...but it's quick and tight, great in close and easily able to throw out to most fishable distances, it's very light, line-friendly (as others have observed), and Fun! You want the fly to go somewhere and...there it goes!
Easily one of the two best casting rods I've cast in the past 5 years (the Epic 686 being the other). If you're 'on the fence' about this one....fall off!

I desperately need one of those yellow 70p rods...if only the funds were around. Christmas can't come soon enough!

I agree wholeheartedly BentGlassGuru!!! I am saving...about half way there...going for the "stout" color as of right now....but that may change by the time I have all the funds!! LOL

I've recently received a 70p in the "stout" color from Chris, all I can say is that after casting it for a while I just stood there with a silly smile. This doesn't happen often but this rod is just simply sweet ! The only problem is that now I want the 64p as well. Oh well , now I have all winter to save my money. Also , as anyone who has dealt with Chris can attest, he is a true gentleman and a class A craftsman.

I need a 64P too!

My experience has been you get much more than just a fly rod from Chris.

Just got my 70p a month ago, haven't had a chance yet to fish with it until today. I live in NE Alabama, but I traveled to NW Colorado to see my brother and his family...and fish a little.

This rod has got some power, and can handle some large fish. I went out on the Yampa river today and caught 3 small rainbows, and one whitefish. That dude put an awesome bend in the rod. My brother and I are heading to Stagecoach reservoir tomorrow. If anyone has suggestions for fishing locations in the area, I'd be more than appreciative for the info! ImageImage

jessejw18- if you ever make it over to the Huntsville area let me know! I have plenty of spots and a couple of Chris' builds to cast and fish. btw- the 70p is a great rod....as well as the 64p( my favorite).
