Tomo sent a couple blanks to me. I got them today. One is a 5'11" 3wt that has a sanded finished and the other is a 7'6" 4wt he calls Sakura and it's pink.

Looks like a great color for a CFR fundraising rod. Throw in a SWCR pink insert on a lemke seat and you could do a number on it.

But you could only fish for Salmon.

Aurelio, I'm not sure... I don't have an unsanded one to compare but I doubt it makes a big difference, I do although like the look of the sanded on myself.

There is a hardwood called "Pink Ivory". That would be an insane insert/spacer for the Sakura and a CFR rod!

Sakura is a very common womans name in Japan, it means cherry blossom. Cherry blossom festivals are huge in Japan, they even have a special activity called "hanami" which is basically cherry blossom viewing.
