Occasionally I will offer some very special Limited Edition rods.

The first of which will be a run of seven 7’4″ 2/3wt 3 piece tobacco glass (phenolic resin) rods. Here’s the short story: I was contacted recently by Koichi Ishizaka of Studio Thin Line in Japan and he offered me his remaining inventory of blanks and I jumped at the opportunity.

To say that I am excited about these rods is a gross understatement. I am absolutely beside myself!
Ever since I learned of the Studio Thin Line rods I have been enthralled and inspired by them. The slow and deliberate casting stroke, the feeling they have with a fish on and the beauty of the material prove they are worthy of a very special Limited Edition of rods. I am honored and humbled to be able to offer the last rods of this kind.

These rods will be individually numbered, fitted with flor grade cork, reel seats of cork and Japanese lacewood with black dual sliding bands, black nickel Snake Brand guides and black phenolic butt cap.

Six rods will be available for sale. These will be offered at $750 plus shipping with custom tubes and socks. I will take preorders for these with a deposit of $200.
I have started building the first few and expect them to be finished with them in several weeks. Keep an eye out for more pictures and details on the build process.
Please feel free to contact me with questions and to place an order.

Chris Well done. Having seen Duff's STL it is the coolest looking glass blank . Totally unique as only the whitish Kabs offer somewhat similar outside the box appearance . But will say Chris's blanks have striking color as well. Ownership of one of these rods will have special meaning .

the reel seat insert looks like it was designed specifically for that rod. What kind of wood is that?

Thanks so much guys! As I've said before, it's an honor to build these rods. It's hard to do a bad job on them!

It's a piece of Japanese lacewood that I got from Koichi Ishizaka that he used when he built these rods. I don't know the exact species but that's what he told me it is.

Beautiful build as usual, Chris. Love the snakewood insert and Wojo-like butt cap.
