Hi All,
This is the first chance I have had to respond. These rods look like the finished rods that Johnnie sells on his Angler's Roost website for the price quoted-they are not my builds. Compare the pictures to my pictures at the beginning of this thread, and you can see the difference.

Johnnie designed and sells the blanks on his site, and that is where I get mine. He has expanded from first offering just blanks to offering finished-out rods. I don't know who builds them, and where that is done.

I am working on a couple of my "Klassic" builds right now, when I can get away from my current day job schedule.

Very nice John, and a very good price for such a US-made rod!

These are indeed very strikeing and nicely built rods. Are they indeed completely made in the USA, blanks too?

Hello Nate, Keith is correct.

The blanks are Chinese and represent my Asian glass offering. When these blanks first came out, there was a great deal of discussion about them on this forum, and it was common knowledge. Today, someone coming late to the party may not understand that.

Isolationists aside, we live in a global economy, and that means that we have resources open to us that our fathers and grandfathers could not imagine. The blanks may be made in China, but the rods are made right here in the USA by me. They are designed to reach a certain price point, and they perform very nicely at that price.

Alternatively, my American glass offering is built on the honey Lamiglas blank.

John

Hi Sherwood,

Thanks for the interest, the wraps are chestnut brown silk and beige silk tipping. After a coat of color preserver and a urethane finish coat they are a rich glassy brown and beige color that complements the melon orange blank.

John
