The Mocha color has arrived! Also in are the 376's. Wiggle test on the 376 had me very excited!

Does the 686 come in Mocha?

Tabornatives- went live on the site this evening and we are already down to 1 of the 580's and 2 of the 480's! Someone build out a 376 so we know what it's all about. I wish I had the time!

That is a good traditional color as I am still trying to digest whether or not I like all those other candy cane colors offered. I do like the Salsa color though.

I thought Epic was coming out with a complete building kit for these rods in January. I sent them a request on when they would be available in late December but have never heard back from them.

I never really looked into it all that seriously but on the epic blanks all the different colors have the same taper right? So the only thing different between the different colors is literally the color?

Jess,

That is correct. The taper on the Salsa 580 is the same as the taper on the Amber 580 etc etc. I am sure you have seen the posts pointing out that there is a significant difference in the actions between the various line weights. An 480 is nothing like the 580. Completely different animals.

I think the Epics should also be sold as untinted blanks along with a color kit, similar to Paas easter egg dyes.

Did get the 480 in blue to match an blue reel I have. I'm haven't been a blue person. Didn't like the Cortland, but I have to say I like the Epic blue. Love the rod and saving for the 686 in clear, white or what color they have named it. I do like there blanks.

Great looking color/colour! Looks like a modern version of the Fenwick 3-digit Feralite blanks.

I checked my emails this morning and saw that EPIC had just launched a 7'9" 10wt blank called the 'Bandit' for pike, murray cod or whatever and not too much later (like an hour) they had sold out already! Certainly an interesting blank - might be just the thing to fish in my neck of the woods where frogging (conventional tackle) rules around 8 months of the year. I never fancied a big graphite for bass because they were lousy to cast for extended periods - will be interesting to see what the reports on the EPIC Bandit are - it might be just the ticket.
