I wanted to get a few photos up to show these new guides. The weather is still nasty and I take photos outside so I will get better pics maybe tomorrow. The frames are nickel silver so tomorrow I will blue one to show some contrast.

I will have more info on my blog or website in the next day or so. The frame and bezel are nickel silver, and the ring insert is carbide. These are pressure fit together meaning the bezel is not formed around the insert. The bezel does have a rope knurl to match my hardware, but plans for a smooth bezel is in mind. These two are size 10mm.

Shane,

Those stripping guides are the very definition of "rod jewelery". I am sure they will look very classy blued as well. Sweet :D.

Andrew.

Beautiful. Looking forward to seeing you use these on one of your future builds. You've been busy this winter Shane.

Very, very, very nice Shane. My compliments to you. When will you have 8mm ones for sale, and what do you project as to what you will sell them for?
Mark.

Thanks guys! Very happy to read these things you wrote.

Mark, thanks! and right now I can't answer those questions. Plans are to make 8mm to 12mm. As far as price, I don't know that yet. Soon, I'm sure.

They look great! Could they be done with agate or agatine inserts (red, root beer, golden, etc)?

Here are photos of them with one blued. They take blueing very well, less than 20 sec. I think you could go jet black if you wanted. The blued guide is not polished, simply blued and dried.

I really thank everyone and will be sure to get some info out as soon as possible. The final price ect has not been determined. I have not gotten a bill yet.

I will say that Joel Lemke is making the rings, and Joe Arguello made the frames. Because of the tools Joel broke cutting the rings, and that most of the cost in Joe's agate guides is the frame these prototypes would be pretty high. So I still need to work out the details.

Disclaimer this is not for most of you. ( this is for the guys that in 24 hours have already sniffed out the machinist and tried to work a deal and buy the guides direct ... Ha) I had already worked out the idea with Joel Lemke 8 months ago and he is making these on behalf of me. I only write this because as with most things Joel has already been contacted as to under cut me and buy direct. Joel will not be selling guides, rings, carbide inserts, Ect.

Shane ... beautiful work and these will add another beautiful feature to your builds.

It's really poor form, and a lack of respect, on those trying to go behind your back to purchase these not through you.
