Since I have relocated to another state and secured a new job position ... it's been difficult to get "settled into" rod building.

I will be completing two rods for a customer in Finland (who has been waiting patiently). After that, I won't be able to complete the last few orders that I have on my list. I have to search through my emails to get out replies to the last four or five rods that I had orders for. With that, if you had a rod on order ... I will offer you the blank first. Once I have the emails settled, I will be offering the remaining blanks, hardware, and misc. rod building items. I apologize for not being able to get the last few orders out. I have been trying to get settled in to my new home and find time ... my new job has me traveling all week and I just can find the time to keep the rod building end of things going.

I have stopped taking orders for some time now, in hopes to get back on track ... it just isn't getting done. FH Paddock Fly Rods will be no more ...

The best,
Fred

Fred, while the demise of your rod company is very saddening, I am happy to hear that you have successfully transitioned into a new job and a new state. You have made a tremendous contribution to the fiberglass fly rod community and certainly have added immeasurably to this forum. Please keep in touch.

The very best,

Tom

Fred I too am sad to hear your decision as first you are a class act and just a good guy! We all could wish to be viewed in the same light. I have your 7'6" 4 wt brown series that you sold me and at the last Mcfarland gathering these series was widely praised. And most recently I picked up your "THE ONE" built out by Matt Leiderman. This rod will join my Morgan as honored status. Wished you well and God Bless Jeff

Hello Fred. I hope your job is a good match for you. You gave a lot to our world and thank you for that. You will give in other ways now. Did you save plenty of rods for yourself?

Fred,
You do nice work. Hopefully you will have more time for fishing though.

Probably pretty tough to make a living constructing rods.

Best of luck in the future.

We have done a lot of business over the past few years and I have always found it a pleasure. There is no doubt that you have made a huge contribution to this forum and I will miss the excitement of waiting on one of your builds to reach me this side of the pond.

I hope that we can stay in touch Fred.

All The Very Best and God Bless.

As John Wayne said in The Green Berets ... "A mans got to do what a mans got to do ... ".
Sorry to see you out of the rod making business. I'm glad I own and fish one of your fine blanks - built for me by Shane Gray. It's become one of my favorites. Best of luck and hopefully the future finds you getting back into the game someday.

I'm bummed out that I won't be getting "The One", but I wish you the best moving forward and echo other members comments in thanking you for your contributions to the line of fine modern glass rods.

If things change in the future and you have the itch and time to make more rods ... please hold my place on the list :)

Steady work is good to have.

And I hope your travelling allows you the occasional break for some fishing.

Fred, Thanks for building those five Bamboo rods. Without your contributution I would have not ended up with number one. Also, if and when you get back into the bamboo side, I would like you to build me an extra tip. Thank You
