Last year jaspernm posted in the Rod Pictures forum some photos of a Rare Steffen 8' 3/4wt 2pc, dark teal blank that is sooo. .. sweet. I wish Mark would make these gorgeous blanks available (even as a limited premium series). I would definitely buy them.

Andrew.

I have the new softer 3/4 blank in a 7'3" 3pc, and it should be built in a few weeks.

It feels like a real winner, just flexing it next to a Steffen 8' 3/4 3pc blank and 8' completed rod in Mark's standard 3/4 taper. I think Mark did a fantastic job of softening it just enough to compensate for the shorter length, while still keeping the feel of his signature 3/4 taper in longer lengths.

I'm excited about this one. When I was talking to Mark about making the softer taper in the shorter 3/4 lengths, he said he really liked what he came up with, and was going to build a 7'3" 3/4 for himself because he liked it so much.

I am looking for a taper that is a tad quicker than the 8 or 7'9" 3/4 in a three or four piece. Instead of making the 7'6" 3/4 softer, I'd like to see it speeded up making it closer to aurelio's 5 piece 3/4.

Andrew The dark teal blank was built by JasperNM for me. It is possible the nicest graphite rod in that configuration I own. Bob described it as blend of Sage LL 7'11" 3 wght and Winston TMF . Of course Bob's built was awesome and he is joy to work with. Looks like it may be one of a kind. Too bad as a 8'6" 4/5 version would be one I would love to see.
