Phil should commission you or someone to photograph and post pics of some of his new wares (per the rods a year or so ago).

I've been intrigued from the outset but would want to see what I'm buying.

I didn't have a camera with me ... Maybe someone will be kind enough to post pics of the items they've received.

How is Phil's response? Do I have to chase up every day/week or can I assume that he will reply if I send him a single fax?

I have dealt with Phil, he is very nice and always ships the goods fast. I normally just give him a call and he ships the order within a day or two.

If you order something from Phil by fax, he usually won't respond in return. Don't worry, he is excellent about shipping it promptly. He is sometimes difficult to reach by phone. I've had the best success calling early (7:30-8:00 EST) in the morning. He's a great guy to deal with and has a large selection of accessories for the rod builder. If you are looking for something, just ask, he probably has it.

Doug

Well there were a couple of questions in my fax and was wondering whether I was going to have to chase or whether he would get back to me in time.

Communications are sometimes not so easy me being in Switzerland - but Phil just sent me a detailed fax with all sorts of information on it - not often somebody goes to that much trouble to help somebody wide out of his usual orbit. And down to earth prices too - I'm a fan and a convert!

I can second that, having purchased a Riffle glass blank from Phil about 8 weeks ago. Have not started building it yet, but it arrived quickly, was well packed (in a PVC tube) and with it was a price list of Phil's graphite and glass blanks, rod building kits and components. Had a nice conversation with him about the origin of the Riffle glass design and Vince Cummings tapers. He told me multi-piece blanks are coming, possibly this winter. Anyone heard any more about this?

Hello everyone, I've been frequently reading around on the site for a couple weeks.. so I've decided to sign up and not be a lurker lol.
This thread grabbed my attention because I keep hearing about Phils glass blanks and I was wondering if I could get a price quote on 'em. I can't seem to get ahold of Phil any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The price list I got from Phil about 8 weeks ago lists the 2-piece Riffle glass blanks at $95. I've had good luck reaching Phil on Friday's at the shop.

Just got a 6'8 four piece three wt. from Phil. Super nice pack rod. His four piece series will be ready sometime soon. Nice fella to deal with. I've known Phil and done business with him for about thirty years off and on. Got no dog in this hunt. Just a satisfied customer. Turketc

I'd love to see some photographs of the reels. Is there a link I could follow to see?
