St. Croix was one of their sources. There were probably several others over the years.

I believe True Temper supplied a portion of Herter's rods as well as St Croix. My Herter's fly rod has a True Temper style hosel. And I've read on this forum that Phillipson made rods for Herter also.
Details of a rods appearance should give a clue to origin, but Herter seems to have used many of his descriptions universally, so that things like "browntone" simply indicates a color to me rather than a distinctive model.

I think it will clean up. I've got a few DAM 110's, and Mitchell 308's that would mount up nicely. Some dillweed glued the seat to the cork.

It's a fisher, not a looker. My photographer was working elsewhere today.
