Finally got one of these today in very reasonable order. I’ll will most likely upgrade the line guides but otherwise a user. Ferrules all functional and although I intended on putting a screw up reel seat after a clean up the original butt section is growing on me. Holds this wee Mitchell fine and should be adequate for the other reel I have in mind for it - a 308.
It came in it’s original 4 section bag. Not bad at all for a rod from the 50’s I believe.

They call that a Tennessee handle across the pond, and they're very comfortable.
One of my newer ML spinning rods has a neat screw-down variation on a pocketed seat using full cork grip.
Sorry, this cropped photo is all I have

One of my all-time favorite grips is this Phillipson patent seat with Hardy Exalta foot turned to the rear.
The "knee" on the reel has a square slot that matches a screwed-down boss on the reel body.

I had used rods with "Tennessee" handles for years before ever knowing about that term. But what really caught my attention on the Milbro rod is the shape of the tip-top guide. Could you please show a close-up of that?

I like that somewhat translucent green colour..
My first reel was a Mitchell 321 like that one.. then upgraded in 1974 to my dream reel, a 308 which I still use..

It would look sharp with a green Penn 716

I agree about the 308 and here is the cleaned up rod with new whippings and my beloved Mitchell 308. The other one is a 324.

Looks great, love how they placed the signature on the rod. Definitely trickier to write on, but it offers a very different look.
