Today I fished some recently-purchased fiberglass rods and vintage reels for the first time (lightweight spincast and spinning outfits). These are very inexpensive at garage sales. Caught lots of nice bluegill (mostly 7-8 inches) and red ear (mostly 8-10 inches). Each outfit caught fish. All rods bent deeply, and all reels had their drags engaged. Much more fun than stiff graphite! Here are a few photos from the small lake in Northeast Oklahoma (a municipal water-supply lake).
