This morning I decided to beat the heat and run down to Umatilla Oregon for walleye in my little 14’ aluminum boat. Calm winds and sunshine. It was beautiful and not very many people around. Just took one rod (a 70s Phillipson MS70? I think and a ‘74 Mitchell 300). I had some month old crawlers in the back corner of the fridge I almost forgot about so I took those. They looked a bit dehydrated when I opened the container but were mostly alive to my surprise . Using a 2 oz bottom walker and yellow worm harness i made two drifts and caught a medium sized walleye. A couple more drifts I picked up a pretty good one. My main phone camera doesnt focus past 1-2 ft (broken) but I did manage to get a couple head shots of the fish with the rod/reel. It looks a bit bigger than real life due to those circumstances. The other picture fishing was using the tiny selfy camera but i couldn’t really compose the low quality shot when the camera is facing away from me.

Anyway it was a productive morning with two walleye and two smallmouth bass.

I think the pairing of the Mitchell 300 and Phillipson Master was a good one.

Thanks for looking!!
