Is a Wright & Mcgill 5ft feather lite in the older brown glass fairly rare? It has sliding rings on cork.Was it intended for fly or spin or both?

Welcome to Fiberglass Flyrodders osagehunter. You've got a nice little ultralight fly rod. You don't see the older brown glass Featherlights every day, but I wouldn't really call them rare. People like them I guess, so they hold onto them. Wright & Mcgill also made a Featherlight spinning rod so I would guess no they weren't made for both ... but you probably could. If you are a fly fisherman, enjoy a nice little small stream rod.

Pictures here would help, I would bet it is a spin rod, I don't recall ( but then what do I know) WM ever making a 5' fly rod. Either/or, bound to be a fun little rod!

After checking my catalogs, Keith is correct. WM didn't make a 5' fly rod. So by your description you have a Featherlight spinning rod. I really don't expect they are rare but don't follow spinning equipment so I couldn't say for sure.

it was advertised as fly /spin an does have reg guides instead of wire guides.Just wondered if it was a rare rod. Thanks
