eBay purchased. I always wanted to build a spinning rod. I’m still working on the FSP 661 which I do think is a fly spin but am only putting spin guides on and am not really concerned with it functioning as a fly rod. Who knows, may throw a fly reel on it one day.

My kids like fishing but only with spinning rods. So, I’m delighted to build a few they very well may use.

This SP78-2 is just the right action for me - smallmouth and panfish on local creeks.

I haven’t seen much info on the board about this rod. There is a bit of damage to the finish but luckily, the tip covers it up. With a little spit and polish, it’s mostly unnoticeable.

Will have photos sometime maybe later this Spring but I might be working on an Epic next.

the ferrule damage is tricky.
My temptation would be to lightly rub/polish it until you know it's smooth, check for fit, and especially click - and possibly add a film of the lowest-viscosity wetting super glue you can find (Zap pink)
