At one time or another I have owned most all the popular vintage Ultra Lights, Alcedo Microns, Cargem Mignon, Orvis 50As, and many others from beaters to mint in the box, none of them, by far, come close to this little jewel. The smoothness rivals the Stradics. The bail didn't work and some time fidgeting with it, I got it working again. 308 pictured for size comparison. The 110's are also great reels but weigh a ton.

Very nice. I have never seen one of these. What is the vintage?

that fits with the skirted spool and push-button spool release

there used to be a DAM history website and BB, but both became saturated with malware.

One I came across when I was researching the 110 and 220 I have.

That is a handy website, Thank you Admin. This reel feels like a dream on my shorter classic rods

What is giving you a malware warning. I've hit this site with three different browser and received no warning.

Nice little reel, I never paid any attention to skirted spool reels, but that looks like a good one. As I said elsewhere, the smoothest reel I ever owned was a Quick, if it compares to that 330N, you've got something.

How is the drag on that reel? The one thing I always thought they could have improved on the N series reels was the drag.

skirted spool reels go back farther than most recognize -
- the offshore-size Spanish Sagarra was never made any other way, originated in 1948, and even with their newer ball-bearing flip-bail models, they still make this reel. It has a quality feel that surpasses decades of other makers (kinda like Hardy Altex surpasses eight decades of all other makers)
I'd estimate the patent expired some time in the 70s, which then invited other makers to try skirted spool.
They love this big reel in the Mediterranean and Azores, and it still feeds commercial markets.

excellent.. those were the last of the German-made DAM Quicks, and the best IMO. I like the skirted spool and the drag is improved from the 110s.
I have not yet convinced myself to pay what they are selling for, though.. ha.

The drag is excellent WalleyeJoe. Very smooth
I have had more than my share of 110 and 110N's and Microlites, I mostly only dabble in Ultra Light stuff, but I think I have a Finessa in a drawer somewhere in the garage. That 1001 I found at a garage sale, the guy was pretty proud of it, "I can't take less that 10 dollars for it" :eek :eek :eek

Sounds like you got your money's worth. As my buddy Lou would say "at that price, you can't afford not to buy it"
