I don't know the answer other than 50s. Somebody on ORCA would know the answer. I searched and didn't find any date information, only found sister reels with different names.

In a 1955 tackle catalog it says under a photo of your reel: "Lightest spinning reel made is the Waltco Ny-O-Lite, made entirely of molded nylon (except bail and screws). It weighs about 4 oz.. This reel is virtually damage-proof and fits the lighest rods. $13.50"
