Shakespeare Model A-209 6'-0" Bought at an estate sale for $5.00Image
Date code EFJ, if I'm correct that's February of 1965, one month after I was born.
As you can see, it's in excellent condition. I love the color of this rod. I do have a Wonderflyte spincaster of a similar vintage. I'm having trouble getting it to work properly. I'll post that problem another day.

neat rod. I have some photos squirreled away at home of a white wonderod 2-pc. casting rod.
I sold it to a Shakespeare collector a couple of years ago. Apparently, the 2-pc. casting rods are rare and desirable.

I have a 9' Wonderod fly rod with the same "rainbow" blank as yours.

We had some posts some time back with Gladdis pitching in, Shakespeare called it a bamboo finish, later fly rods had a glass spigot ferrule, early models alloy ferrules. The UL fly rods at 7ft are great little performers. Thats really a nice rod, wonder if it came in any other models?

OK, I got it backwards - it's the one-piece Shakespeare casting rods that are rare - here's the one I sold to a Shakespeare collector:

it would look really good with a mint Maroff GE

Bulldog,
That sure was a pretty rod. I've always liked the white blank and green accents. Mine has that same detachable handle.
