I inherited an odd, old Fenwick rod. Its one piece, 40 inches long, and has one spinning eye and a tip top. It came with a Mohawk K-19 reel loaded with L6F line with a mono leader. I have no idea what this rod would be used for - canoe trolling, maybe ice fishing with a different reel? If used for ice fishing, it wasn't for panfish, as the rod is rather stiff. Custom, factory? Any ideas?

too short to be a useable fly rod.

pics look like it was re-purposed from a broken spinning rod?
I think your ice fishing rod theory is probably on the mark.

I would guess a small stream worm rod, or something for the kids to use around the old swimming hole.

This is highly likely. I also got a beautiful Fenwick 140, 4 1/2 foot, 1.5 ounce spinning rod. The 140 is newer, but the rod blank is almost identical.

It is for sure a broken ultra light spinning rod.Likely a 1 piece.Rods like those are nice little fishing tools.Rated for 2-4lb test line.Fenwick Browning,Garcia Conolon etc all had versions.Very little taper in the butt and a thin soft tip.Used these a lot as a kid for tiny mepps and rooster tail in line spinners. Not a bait or worm rod but could be used for that,so can any rod for that matter.Nice condition examples fetch a good buck. They are from the same era as vintage glass fly rods.
