Hi, here is my experience, Most of the hits are detected by sight, not feel, ya occasionally I feel them but 90% sighted. The stick really makes no diff if you know what ur doing. The new rods just have better reach. Tight lining is tight lining. I fish both. Mike

IMO, feel gives you added input in assuring weighted flies are actually fishing the bottom layer and distinguishing between a hit and a bottom bump. The design of the rod, of course, has to make this possible. Otherwise all you have is sight feedback.
