Anyone use this line on glass and have an opinion? See plenty like it on graphite rods as it’s a short, heavy head. My go to 3wt Orvis line has been discontinued.

No experience with the Creek.

What was your go-to Orvis line? They are in the midst of a big rebranding, and it may just get a new new name. Or, since Orvis owns Scientific Anglers, there may be a similar SA line available. If I remember correctly, Orvis likes to have SA make lines to their own profiles and specifications, but there is a fair bit of overlap between the two companies.

I like the Superfine taper. I’ve heard of a rebranding, like their Pro lines, but no mention of the Superfine.

I can’t remember where I read it but I think that line was made for the sage dart rods. I’d probably look for something else.

Here is the taper chart for the older Superfine line.

It looks like, at least on paper, you might like the Scientific Anglers Mastery Trout. It seems to have a compound front taper that is somewhat similar to the Superfine.

Personally, though, I would check out the 406 Fly Lines WF 3-weight. That's one of the best glass lines out there, and the line profile isn't too far off from the old Superfine.

So sounds like it could be similar to a Barrio smallstream taper? Should be good on glass if it is

I have a Superfine Glass 3wt 7'6" and tried the 3wt Superfine WF3F on it. I thought it was meh. Surprising, since I really like the Superfine WF4F line on the 4wt SFG (bought a spare when they went on closeout).

After trying a bunch of lines I settled on the 406 DT3F. Just suits me better on that rod.

Thanks, I’ll have to check those lines out. I believe the Mastery is stocked down in Dallas. I was able to track down the Orvis line in ME and have it shipped for $30!

I cast the Orvis fine on both a Scott and the superfine 703, not sure how much the 763 differs. While I can use a 4wt on it, I prefer
