A search on this forum shows a rod from H-I that has a logo of what looks like an atom like the ones frequently seen in drawings back in the 50's and 60's along with "Thermo Weld Process" nicely written in cursive. I have seen another rod with this logo but with no maker's name on it. Does anyone know if this was some process exclusive to H-I or were other maker's rods also done in this process? I suppose it is possible that, if the rod I saw was an H-I rod, the decal could have come off and that's why it is unbranded. Is it possible that this rod was a blank finished out by a hobbyist?

I had a HI boat rod with the same decals, looked like plain old tobacco glass to me. I guess it came up as an advertising phras—along with the atom—as they did have to bake the blanks.

When I get the rod, I will post a photo and give a little more info.
