I can’t decide because these two rods are 1-1/2’ apart in length:
- Diamondglass 8’-6” 4wt
- Steffen 7’-3” 3/4wt

Perhaps ibookje said it best..." I might say we are living in the golden era for fine fiberglass rods." With vintage and new, with factory and custom and with foreign and domestic there are some incredible rod choices available to us. It's great time to be a Fiberglass Flyrodder.

I have a Barclay built Ijuin Yomogi 703. The most smooth full flexing rod I’ve ever touched. Incredibly capable or extremely soft presentations.

Bingo, ibooke. Then or now, 'glass rods usually provide the feel loosely described as "smooth." As with the 7 and 6 weight line, often a revelation to a fly angler schooled on the lighter line weights, sometimes I think the glowing descriptions of any one 'glass rod as "smooth" are partly just the outcome of being relatively new to the material. It would be easier to name the very few that aren't "smooth." Eventually, we go to smooth, smoother, smoothest.

Agree. Really hard to choose "smoothest" among my glass rods but could say that compared to my graphite rods most are "smoother". Smoothest might be my Steffen 5/6... or maybe the Kenney 835? Not far behind is my Fisher 806... incredible rod... all three are with the right lines.

Cheers
