This was my first glass rod, bought around 1974 or 75 with hay hauling money. The label has long since rubbed off... do you recognize the label????

The South Bend 1133 reel I got at the same time still has the 3.95 price tag on it, so I have no illusions about the rod value - don't really care either. More than anything else, I'm just curious what the heck the rod is.

I don’t, but someone else might. But more importantly, you’re much more likely to get an exact ID on the rod if you give pics of the reel seat, wraps, ferrules, maybe tip-top, etc.

My guess is Heddon
Posibly a Black Pal viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60664#p303036
except yours (and mine) has metal ferrule, so possibly a trade rod made by Heddon.

I agree about the Heddon. The winding check and reel seat (other than color) sure look a lot like the one in this thread:
