A Sears Ted Williams rod and reel combo found at a local flea market in Pennsylvania. Reel is marked Ted Williams 150 (Sears model 535 315551). Rod is marked Ted Williams Professional Model. Recommended Line #9. The rest of the decal is worn off. It’s honey colored hollow glass with tip top, seven snakes and a stripper guide with a black insert. Black aluminum reel seat. Female ferrule is glass which fits down over the blank.

I am am almost certain the reel is made by Shakespeare. Does anyone know who made the rod? I have a few more pictures if that would help. Thanks.

A picture of the ferrule would be a help in IDing it.

Don't know who made it, but here's the perfect reel for it.

You got that right, unless bass bugging is the only planned use. Take a look on YouTube for Ted Williams Atlantic Salmon fishing. And give a listen when a Martin-made Sears reel sounds off.

Thanks Magicwrench. Shakespeare is a good guess bc I am pretty sure the auto reel is made by Shakespeare.
Grass, that is a gorgeous reel. A Martin 70 or 71 I guess.
The reel is spooked with a L7F line in good condition. I’ll probably take it to the local bass pond and fish some poppers. Never tried an automatic, but I’m game.
Here in central PA the Juniata River has good smallmouth fishing. If I get a chance this summer I may use a Medalist 1495 or 1498 with that rod. I also have a Cortland 140D reel that would work, already fitted with a WF 9F. Thanks for the information.
