It's been a while since I wrote about my 4-weight rods, so I thought it was time to do so again. Some rods have come and some have gone, but I think I have a good assortment of great casting tools.
Here is the link to my blog post if you would like to check it out: https://theriffle.blogspot.com/2023/01/the-fours-2023-style.html
Plus a pic to whet your appetite:

That’s a sweet collection, thanks for sharing! How would you say the Kenney compares to the Scott? Curious to know if the lineage carries into Larry’s designs.

Nice little write up and really sweet 4wt lineup! Really like that Winston rod, one is on my wish list. lol Thanks for sharing your thoughts on each rod, gives people who haven't had the opportunity to fish/cast some of those rods to be more informed, incase they were looking at one of those models.

All my Scott glass rods have their well-known cork reel seats, and the Kenney has a wood and metal seat. Not sure if that is the reason, but the Scotts feel a little bit more tip-heavy in the hand. The casting actions are quite similar though. Smooth and buttery, and the line goes right where I want it to.

WoW.

That's quite the "gamut".
Reads as a "who's who" of the very best 4wts to be had.

Finally someone else with a McFarland “S” glass 8’8” 4 wt!

Outstanding rod for wade fishing.

Enjoyed seeing your collection and what you had to say about that wonderful assortment of fine 4wt rods.

Very nice post. I liked seeing all the rods. 5-weights are the ones where my collection has expanded the most. My current plan is to learn how to fish with both hands at the same time.

Sweet! I’ve got a couple blanks on order with Mr. Kenney, thé 479 is one I’m especially looking forward to.

Cheers!

I am much more insane about rods than reels. I just want a few good looking reels that work well and balance my rods nicely. I tried to get into vintage reels for a while, but quickly realized they aren't for me... :)

Wow! Quite the quiver. I am a big fan of 4wt rods too, especially for NJ waters. That said, my glass selection is slacking!
