Oh boy, I am excited! I just acquired my first Glastech rod, an 8' 5wt beauty! I put it together and waggled it in my office. It has a lovely, somewhat tip-heavy feel to it, much like my older Scott glass rods do.

Wow...congratulations on this nice rod! It would be interesting to obtain some more info on the rod from Dennis Franke, if he is still around...or from Mark Steffen for that matter (I'm assuming that Mark Steffen made the blank to Dennis Franke's specs).

If you decide not to fish it, you can send it to me and I'll test it out on some prime cutthroat water for you.

But seriously, that is an incredible find.

Dennis mentioned to me that was one of his favorites, the 3pc. 8ft 5wt. CONGRATULATIONS and fish it in good health! Phil

If anyone has an up-to-date email address for Dennis Franke, please send it to me by PM (don't post it). I will ask him if I can scan his catalog for the Wiki. Years ago, Duff sent me a Glastech catalog and some other information, so I have a copy to scan. Dennis' catalog is still under copyright and I don't wish to post it without his permission.

Chaoticscott was kind enough not to object to posting another recent Glastech find, this one the 8' three piece six weight. Shown with makers "fine line venting" on the grip.

Enjoyed lawn casting this model very much so far with a Cortland DT6 and a Rio Gold 5.
