Does your rod look like the one in
this old catalog photo? That would be an Orvis Fullflex A from the late 70s. If the rod is in good working order, then yes you found a peach. Old rod inscriptions have been known to fade and chip. See

These rods were some of the first from the Orvis production line. For years Orvis purchased fiberglass rod blanks from other shops and made their cane rods in house. When graphite arrived, Orvis invested in their own rod blank production equipment for both fiberglass and graphite. After a couple years the high demand for graphite rods killed off their fiberglass production.
