I have 2 vintage Shakespeare Wonderods and one is a Professional no. FY 910UL 6'6" EEK and the other model is a No. A816 8'6" EGH. I was wondering if anyone knew much about these especially the 6'6"? Wondering if that model was rare because of its size and what years these were both made in? Any help would be appreciated.

Your 6'6" Professional was made in Jan 66 and the other rod was made in Mar 64. You can find the table with the Shakespeare date codes on the Wiki page.

The 6'6" and 7' UL Wonderods are very sweet rods. I normally fish mine with a WF-5. I have a 6'6" FY 910 (not marked UL) EFF (May 65) that I like best with a WF-6. Mike

I really like my 910 6'6" Wonderods---there were several other 6'6" different models: 1245, 910 UL, 922, 923 , and a few more I can't remember. Some of these rods are 5 WT and some are 6 WT. Beautiful rods.
There were not a lot of 5 wt lines and or rods back then.
Congratulations,
Gary

Those are two nice wonderods. I like my 1245 panfish special with a heavy 4 wt line.

FY708 UL 6’6” is a sweet caster, marked as a 5 wgt, it handles a 4 wgt line very well.

I have the 7 and 6'6 versions and a purist 7.I call them my pond rods as they are very easy to maneuver around shoreline brush and trees,I overline mine to load short.I have doubles of the 6'6 910ULs and a 923 as a spare tip which is the same but the butt section is heavier than the 910s.
