Are they a 5/6 weight or? I picked one up in nice shape but probably won't be able to do much with it till deer season ends. I couldn't find anything online, it wiggles 6'ish, which would be great for a 7 1/2' bass rod. Thanks Scott

I have one that I refinished and it cast well with either a 5 or 6 wt line. Havent fished it in awhile but if I remember correctly, I preferred the 5wt line.

I have several of these rods and I like them with a 6 wt. I guess it depends on the size and shape flies you use and your casting style.

Thanks, as hoped. I'll start out with a 5DT and work from there.

I have an odd ball H-I 71/2 custom crown quality.Brown unpainted glass, foul proof guides ,has locking thread ring on the ferrule,a fighting butt that turns to up lock the reel.I think it is a 7wt.I have only cast a little bit.Forgot i had it until this thread. Not a ton of info on these rods.Pretty light weight in hand and unique looking to say the least.

I tried it late this morning, and a 5 weight was ok and I could easily fish it, but I could tell it was screaming 6 weight.
