Took about six months off of rod hunting to fish and enjoy the summer. Started back up perusing my usually hunting grounds (not typically Ebay) and this is the first rod I found that piqued me (though I have a few more coming). Only one other specific post on this rod in this site, and those photos are gone.

Nice condition, no sock or tube...the grip was lightly soiled...I took some 320 to it, because I like clean cork...in researching, it appears the Fly fox was only produced for a couple years.

At 7.5' its a wonderful medium/slow, smooth caster. Really love the feel in the backyard. Its a deep bending rod. It took well to a WF4, DT5 and WF6. Any of these lines are perfect depending on the need. I didn't pay up for it.

PS : The white in the bottom of the butt seat cap/hood is reflection. There is no missing paint.

Sweet.....I am always on the lookout for a vintage Phillipson, but slim pickings around here.

Scored a Silaflex in pristine condition through a friend, so shouldn't complain, though.

Just found a custom bamboo rod, 7&1/2' 2 pc, by an unknown maker, that fishes well at a neighborhood yard sale. Caught a nice little bass last weekend on about the third cast with it, so I know it is OK, if not great.

I just picked up a glass Pacemaker myself …. Looks like it is from 1967 according to one of the catalogs on here. I’ll post pictures and provide a full report when it comes in …

congrats - nice find.
I had the FF66, at least until I gave it to my friend Josh (neumie) - and I still have RW66, which is a touch lighter and faster.

Thanks all...mine came out at 3.20 oz on my scale, so maybe a touch heavier than I anticipated, but still feels light in hand...I suspected it was a good roll caster from playing in the backyard and from noticing that while it is full flexing, it seems to have plenty of mid...a 6'6" or 7' would be fun to try, though I do have a 6'6" rod coming of a different make...

Here's a little 6' Fly Fox I picked up awhile back. Less than 2ozs.. Great casting rod.

Beautiful rod, I’m looking for a short 5-6 WT for a specific creek by my house that has some lunkers tucked away in some nasty bush. I only want a vintage Phillipson or Fenwick for the job, with my 6’6 EC Featherlight as the alternate where it opens up just a little more before it flows into the Alafia.

Both are lovely rods...what's not to love about a Fly Fox.
