Digging through rods and found one I forgot I owned.

Don't know how common they are so figured I'd show a few pictures for those other folks who like Para/Metrics.

Should notice that they didn't appear to put much effort into making the sections the same length. Wonder if they did this for trying to get a particular action out of the rod? Or not.

When put together the rod measures an inch over 7 1/2', so no short sections.

Little Gold Sticker tells how not necessary to jam sections together and should be a gap.

Never seen one of those before...thanks for showing...the first wrap above the winding appears to be spiral wrapped, matching the tube print...the gold metal emblem on the grip reminds of Eagle Claw....beautiful condition...

choice find - thanks for posting nice photos.

Would guess it's heavy for the length, but if it fits the mold, it's a casting rocket.

It weighs 3.3 ozs..

I was using a long belly 4wt on it and casts great, but think 5DT or 6 would be better.

Thought I had a 7 1/2' two piece around to compare it to. Can't find it, if it exists, maybe someone else has one to compare weights with.

Thanks,
Barry

Don't understand why they did the different length, kinda tacky IMO. They must have had a reason.

I found my 7.5ft PM 2pc a 6/7.

I don't understand the different lengths either, unless they are worrying more about how it casts than how it looks. Obviously they could have made all the sections the same length.

There is a post from 2009 showing same model and same thing, all sections are different lengths.

It is marked 6wt.

Also, can you say what is the physical weight of your two piece rod? Trying to see if much additional weight making it into a four piece.

Thanks,
Barry

Barry, I don't think my 2pc is still around, but if I find it I will weigh it.

I was using it 12? years ago on the Kootenai, hiking along the railroad tracks, and the dang metallic heart on the grip popped off. Spent a lot of good fishing time looking for that thing.

The three piece 8fter all same length.

Keith,

My favorite parametric was a three piece 6'3". Can't remember there being much difference in length, tip may have been a little shorter. Certainly not as noticeable as this model.

If you want even sections, you have to get the premium 5 piece. Plus it comes in a burlap lined plastic box without a sock. Pure class.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the action and lightness of parametrics.

I've collected them for twenty years after reading about them in AJ. Campbells book on antique tackle. He gave them high praise.

What surprises me is the models that keep popping up that I have never seen before.

Is there any markings on the box your five piece came in to show it originally came with the rod?

Thanks,
Barry
