I just acquired this very unique rod, via an online auction house. The listing gave no indication of brand, length or line weight, but I thought it looked interesting from the poor photographs they had. The wraps reminded me of my Vince Cummings River Rat... So I put in a minimal bid and ended up winning it. It turns out it is an Eddie Bauer labeled 8' 6wt. The blank is as translucent as any I have ever seen. It casts very nicely, with quite a fast action for glass. Anybody ever seen anything like it? Have any ideas who may have made it for Eddie Bauer? I would be interested in any info. Thanks!

Fisher made a lot of rods for Bauer, but I never heard of a translucent Fisher. I agree with the Lamiglas, as they also built rods for Bauer.

I lived in Seattle in the 70’s and when a car door gobbled my Phillipson :( I took the bus downtown to Eddie Bauer’s and picked up a blank. I did not know the maker other than Eddie Bauer but Lamiglass would be logical given the locale. Mine was anything but fast, the slowest rod I’ve ever owned until some recent ancient bamboo. It was an unsanded, honey colored blank. I only have remnants of it now.

Incredibly cool vintage Eddie Bauer. I recently acquired a new to me 80s era Eddie Bauer 9wt 2pc that I like a LOT. It casts an 8wt line brilliantly. Looks like you need to update your “My 6wts” essay!

I’ve always been interested in the Eddie Bauer rods. Looks like a Lami to me as well. Nice find!
