Since I started fly fishing, I have casually searched for Fenwicks with the same manufacture date as my birthyear. It all started with the first Fenwick I purchased, I wanted to see how old it was and it was just a fluke that it was C prefix rod.

So far I have three, FF79, FF84 and my first Fenwick an FF90.
All three have the old style canvas rod bags (pre-flannel) and their factory aluminum tubes.

I admire the rods, your collection theme, and your youth. I had a similar collecting notion as you, but alas 1954 is a bit tougher target year. i do have a couple or 3 Wonderods older than I am. By a year or 2 or 3.

I've never had much luck finding rods built in 1947. In fiberglass at least.

I'll play....I have a FF70, FF70-4 and FF90 in "C" series (1962)...but even more relevant to this topic is my Fenwick PLS 70 below...my birth year, production year and serial number, all 1962...
