These rods all needs some work... and they have a great back story.
You can see that the labels are missing from all of them.
They were all to be repaired by James Green...
but I convinced him to pass them along to me.
I never knew then and still do not know what they are.
(except that one is labeled Henry Fujita Trout Fly)

Cut to today where I find them after not being able to
get to that spot in 10 years.

And photo's :

Can anyone ID them for me ? It is tough being color blind.

I have a bunch of signed baseballs from the 1930's... all major leaguers.
Can't read any of the signatures or player numbers.
No idea who they are.
This is like that.

Thanks kindly - Brian

Great shots. Did you ever figure out who any of the makers were?

Fujita is the name I keep coming up with and the history of Fujita Sr. is really interesting.
A fly casting champion like none other - one for the record books.

Henry and Richard (Dick) Fujita, I believe.

Sorry I can't help with IDs.

Wonder if there is any connection with John Fujita?? He invented and distributed the "No Name' lure - his story is actually really interesting. Spent time in an internment camp during WWII.

What did James Green tell you about them, or is there a reason you didn't ask or he didn't know? They look like one-of hobby or small shop builds using typical components of the time. I'll guess, but there are other possibilities, they are Fenwick blanks, cut and ferruled by the builder. Anybody can write anything on a blank, or a small custom run with custom decal, so the names may or may not mean anything. I could be completely wrong, but at least want to get some educated guessing started.

Those reel seats look like Cal Air reel seats. I think they were used by Pastor rods and early Scott rods. It seems like I’ve seen them on early Winstons and some Actionrods too.
