Hi all,

It’s been a while since I posted here - I have been going through a bamboo stage but have really missed the glass rods I had to sell to pay for the bamboo!!

Anyway, I managed to pick up this rod - it’s on it’s way. Super excited. I believ it is made to celebrate Sansui Fly shops 100th anniversary but the only other reference to this is a 6’9” 3 weight - this is 7’3”.

If anyone has any info, please let me know.

Cheers
Mike

very nice rod! the cap and ring is the same as the Kenney rods I have, probably the same as the OG yellow Scott glass too.

Incredibly cool. Did you find this one in Japan or Australia?

I don't have a good pic of the inscription, but my 8' 3wt maroon colored Scott glass rod has the same Sansui inscription as yours does...I bought it on ebay a few years ago from a seller in Japan. It's sweet! Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks all for the info.

I have since been told it was bought in Japan from the Sansui shop by the guy who sold it to me. I am in Australia and bought it locally. It has never even been lawn cast.... the rod should arrive tomorrow looking at the tracking and I’ll pop some more pictures up then as soon as I get it.

I’m assuming it was made around the time of the black Fibertouch rods and before the F2 rods - I always loved the black rods especially the 703 and 754 - this looks like it might sit in between those two being 7’3” and a #3. Always great to find these one off models - now I’m regretting long ago selling a Japan Model G series 8’ 3 weight 3 piece rod I once had that would have been a perfect companion for this rod!
