The Heirloom rods first appeared in the T&T catalog in 2006. And Rich Margiotta was (is?) a highly skilled and respected builder and repairer of fly rods.

I second Tiptops comments on Rich (eastprong here on the forum if I'm not mistaken). I have a rod he as built out and the craftsmanship is fantastic.

Did they stop making the Heirloom? It was made up until fairly recently, though time seems to be moving faster than it used to. Definitely it was being marketed in 2015

Hey All:

I recently asked T&T and they have no more Heirloom rods or blanks. Also, the two vendors I know about that sold blanks -- Bearsden and Angler's Workshop -- no longer have any either.

We should have seen this coming and stocked up!

I believe that tiptop and carlz nailed the Heirloom production years from 2006 through 2015, and possibly into 2016. I recall that T&T released the Lotic as their new fiberglass rod in the fall of 2016.

Your Heirloom sounds like a really nice rod from an excellent builder. Enjoy!
