Fenwicks have that effect on me.

And I've been so good recently. It looks like it came from the custom shop.

Now I just have to wait for the rod to arrive through the mail.

That should be interesting. What are you expecting, 7/8 wt?

I am expecting a 7/8wt at 4.25oz listed wt. It was a moment of weakness. I don't need the rod, but I've never heard of one, so I thought I should try it.

I'm a sucker for a 2digit Fenwick.

Pretty sure a lot of us left “need” in the dust a while back. Hope you enjoy it, and please give a report.

I'm going to have to start telling the sellers to pack the tube in a triangle tube. The round tubes just get mutilated. They roll around and get caught up in the equipment.

Reminds me of a rod I got in1980 through US military mail while I was in the US Embassy in Belgrade. The gorillas in the email room bent it double and shoved it into a mail bag.

Let us know how the insurance claim works for you.

My claim is still on file.

Ugh. That hurts. I’m sure you were looking forward to finding out about that rod.

Condolences.
I was looking forward to your evaluation, the Wiki lists 8.5' rods from 4-9 weights, so my guess was tending towards a light 9-10.

It always hurts to see that. Rod tubes are not shipping tubes, no matter what the seller thinks.

I've asked for proper packing from many eBay sellers (link them to this tutorial). It is worth asking because a few sellers will then pack the rod correctly. But most don't pay any attention.
