Did Phillipson ever make an unsanded blank with spigot ferrule?

I know they had spigot ferrules in the later years but always seemed to be sanded blanks.

Saw the LL Bean "Phillipson" unsanded spigot rod on the auction site and questioned the advertised accuracy.

Considering the auction is over...

The few Phillipson spigot ferrule rods/blanks I've seen were 'Fisher like' with solid glass spigots and brown sanded glass. I can't say I've seen an unsanded Phillipson rod blank. A few companies built their glass rods on Phillipson blanks with their components (Orvis, Leonard, T&T), but not LL Bean. LL Bean bought Phillipson made rods built with Phillipson components.

Keep in mind, LL Bean was known for their good taste in fine fly rods over the years. That rod is likely to be a good piece of work. But I don't know who made it.

Bean also had their rods made by Diamondback, St. Croix, and Berkley - better add Lami - for this description, I'd narrow it to the first two.

Thanks. I used to have a 4 piece LL bean that was my best guess to be Fisher. The unsanded Ebay rod just did not seem to fit the Phillipson vibe even though advertised as such.

As mentioned it had nice work like a lot of LL Bean rods.
