I just picked one of these up and it has the foam grip. Are these rods same quality rods as those with the cork grips or is this a sign quality going downhill?

Thanks--Barry

I've found those rods to be heavier and slower than their predecessors.. my preference is definitely for the 322 and 022 series..

Barry, is yours marked for 5-6 or just 6?

Rod is still in the mail, but picture shows 5-6.

Here’s another one with the EVA foam grip:

Yours says F22975 and mine says 922975.

I see yours is in the classifieds. It appears to be a tip over butt. The one I just picked up has a white spigot ferrule.

I hear ya, but picked up a SilaFlex last month with the cork grip and it was too large even for my relatively large hands. Hoping this might work.

Besides, if I ever go fishing again nobody will want to stand near me.

This is my opinion too. I had some of the earlier 222XXX rods, I gave them to a friend with bigger hands than mine. I loved the reel seats on those rods, but the grips were too big for me, just like Barry says.
