I found a rod I have not seen or heard of. Silaflex MF55-2. Looks like nice little rod. 5'5" and very light. Has anyone handled one? If so, I wonder what lines to start with.

from the wiki:
https://wiki.fiberglassflyrodders.com/wiki/Silaflex

MF55-2 "Mite" 5½' 2 HEH nylon

it's a 5-wt c. 1960, and very likely would fish a modern 4-wt

Just to add, specifically 1957-61 according to the Sila-Flex catalogs (provided by Warren Jenks, Herb's brother) shown in TEAL's (aka Dr. Todd) Documentary History of Sila-Flex. Also, this rod is in the Medallion Series.

Hey zachtofish,

When you say "found", does that mean won in a recent auction? If so, good on you. (I was next highest bidder.) If not, still good on you. It's a nice find.

Warm regards,

John
