Hello all,

I just acquired a beautiful FH Paddock 7' 3 wt in the brown color. The label on the base of the rod says "FH Paddock 7'0" #3." Then below that is written "#10-034." What does the phrase "#10-034" mean?

Thank you,

Caddis

Thanks, by the way. This was the first rod in a while that brought a smile to my face. It was quite fun casting it on my local stream. Need to find a decent reel/line to pair it with, but can't wait to take it to a couple of small streams near my cabin in Central, PA.

For a reel, highly recommend one of the Hardy Featherweight clones you can find on that large auction site. In fact, there is a Berkley 530 currently available. Great reels for the money as I have several.

I only took it out once so far, fishing Valley Creek in PA. Casts from 10-20 feet were consistently accurate and landed softly. Tested it on the only 3 wt line I had in my house atm, SA Mastery Amplitude. Going to take it out on some 4 wt line soon. It sort of has two gears, with traditional arm movement it rolls the line over easily, put a little oomph in it and it hums out to 30-40 ft. It's a really nice rod.
Caveat- This is only my third glass rod ever cast, so my experience is limited.

Aren't you on an upward trajectory! Fred makes good stuff. I have an "Original Brown" and it is a nice, nice rod.

For rod number four, maybe try a classic 6 weight. It's the rod you want when the 3 weights are too light.
