Montague only made hollow glass rods for two years, 1953-4. They first bought glass blanks from Conolon, then made glass blanks in-house before TrueTemper bought them along with Ocean City, and moved them, essentially closing their historic rod-making shop in 1954. They offered Hollow Glass 7'6" in five finish grades, with Model 1-1 the top grade (from J&J). In 1955, the South Carolina plant split rod markings between Montague and TT. Of course being Montague, 2 years made a lot of good rods. Then, 6-wt was pretty much The fly line, with 7-wt for longer rods.
Welcome, and we'd love to see photos, either with or without fish (the first is better)
for the lighter lines, look for Phillipson models ending in -L (also DFS models), Fisher, and SA System (by line weight).
